Julian & Olivia Oxenberg

Here We Grow!!!!

Daddy wanted to go to the Deering Estate Seafood Festival in South Miami but got sick and was unable to go. So being the fearless-five that we are, we (Grandma Pam, Aunt Jill, Mommy, Julian and Olivia) headed down to check it out. And what a day. We sat outside and enjoyed the (cloudy) weather and breeze. Olivia took an assisted stroll in the grass - and Julian did not. Turns out Julian does not like the feel of cool grass on his feet - or anywhere else. It's perfect... you can put him on the sheet and once his elbows hit the grass - he stops and tries to lift his hands! He doesn't "wander" off. Olivia had her eye on an older man - named Storm - who shared some of his cookies with us.

Once again - a big THANK YOU to Grandma Pam and Aunt Jill for all of their help this weekend!!!

Grandma Pam and Aunt Jill came over on Friday to spend they day with us. We had many firsts today. We made our first trip to Target. We had our first visit to Shuckers. We had teething biscuits and wheat puffs for the first time - which we LOVED! Julian began holding himself up while hanging on to the side of the playpen and scooting down the way. And we have moved the small bathtub into the big bathtub because Olivia has discovered the joy of splashing. Mommy ends up almost as wet as babies. Oh, and Julian finally wore his cool shoes Aunt Jill got him for the holidays...

Nanny Karina is out of town for a wedding so mommy is home with us. Grandma Pam is helping out too! We were out and about today - taking on Miami. First, a stop at Bayside where we watched all the tourists and sat like champs while mommy and Grandma ate lunch. Then we strolled down to mommy's office where all of our adoring fans were waiting. They could hardly contain themselves!! I believe there was drool - and not from drooly-Julian. AND - we graduated to big-kid car seats - backwards facing. Pictures of that tomorrow.

Now mommy and daddy are off to celebrate Pop Pop's 94th birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY POP POP! We Love You.

We've hit the 9 month mark. We crack ourselves up. We make mom and dad laugh. We sometimes like to eat - and sometimes don't. We crawl across the floor - Julian faster than Olivia - for now! We babble. We terrorize Lucy and Emma. We love going for walks in our stroller. We sit. We try to stand. Now if only we could walk!!

Julian is weighing in at 21.10 lbs and Miss O is tipping the scales at an admirable 17.09 lbs.

Just when I thought I had seen the last of Boston until next year, look what I have come home to!

Dad was away for work this weekend so Grandma Pam and Aunt Jill came over to help. Grandpa Harvey and Nory came by too with some rabbit ears and leg-warmers. (See below!) We had a sleepover with Grandma and then went to visit - first - (four-legged-cousins) Daisy & Nina and second - (two-legged-friends) Megan & Patrick (see below again!). We had fun outdoors and were very tired in the end but it was well worth the effort. "Abba" is still Olivia's word of choice these days but "Emma" slips out sometimes. Julian just wants to climb to a standing position - no words necessary!

See you next week!

Another most excellent weekend with Julian and Olivia. We had visitors Aidan and Anthony from Philadelphia and cousin Kevin from Los Angeles. Julian is now pulling himself up into a standing position as often as he can, frequently using my shirt. Olivia, we think, is trying admirably to say the name of our sweet black pug, Emma. Sometimes it sounds like "Abba", which she might have gotten from her regular afternoon listening marathons on the radio with nanny Karina... We also finally got around to the beginning of child proofing, much thanks to Anthony, he did all the work. Nobody can get into our kitchen cabinets anymore, including us parents!!
