Julian had a play date with Grandma Linda today. We're not sure who was more tired by the end of the day... Meanwhile, Olivia was home resting and battling the end of her cold. And Julian has a new friend - named Johnny.
It was going to happen some day, but it was hard to see when it happened... Julian caught a little cold and then passed it on to Olivia. The saddest little coughs, sneezes, and sniffles we have ever heard.. Today we fed them their first taste of cereal, it was an amusing sight. We might need some more spoon practice......
Ding Ding Ding!
In the blue corner, wearing a yellow footed onsie, Julian the Barbarian. Hailing from Bay Harbor, this strapping young man tips the scales at a full and hearty 15.6 lbs! So said the doctor this week anyways...
And in the red corner, wearing a lovely and feminine polka dotted frock is Olivia the flower. Also hailing from Bay Harbor, this long lashed lass weighs in at a very flattering and slimming 12 lbs! So said the doctor this week anyways....
The growing up process is full speed ahead, non stop.....
Our little ones have begun to discover their limbs. They are loving their wonderfully flavored fists, and have taken to staring at their feet. The feet still vex them, but that will resolve itself soon. Julian and Olivia had their first spin in their Baby Einstein thingy. So much to look at while getting used to a standing posture. Also our old and dear friend Marni came to visit with her daughter Taylor. Taylor has been talking about holding our babies for a few months and now she had her chance. Mission accomplished! This weekend we also visited with Granny and Pop Pop. The high chair our family has been sharing for generations looks ready for its next occupants. Granny proudly still fits in it to this day!
Our next doctors appointment is in a week; anyone dare to guess Julian's weight, we should start a pool.... We are gaining neck and head strength daily, sitting up might be very soon... Julian and Olivia are both smiling these days, and Julian has even debuted a great devilish laugh. Olivia promises she will roll over soon, but in the meantime, as you can clearly see from the photo below, Julian is a regular roller!
Just when you thought you had seen all of our outfits, we fit into new ones. No explanation necessary....
We've gotten to the slobbery stage of the program. Our big guy and little flower are thoroughly enjoying sucking on their hands. Sometimes the whole fist seems to fit in their mouths. Olivia has become an official thumb sucker and mommy finally saw Julian roll over!!
