Julian & Olivia Oxenberg

Here We Grow!!!!

Grandma Linda volunteers to baby sit on some Saturday nights, giving us a great chance to change the scenery for a meal we can savor, slowly. (usually we eat quickly, like starving fugitives) She usually brings a friend, to enjoy all the twin love. I think we might start charging admission!

Turns out, according to Jamaican soothsayers, that most babies have "gripes." You know, when they just sort of grunt, groan, and wail away. No particular cause, just a generic gripe. What do they really have to gripe about anyways? On to more interesting news, we visited the doctor for our 1 month check up yesterday and our new official weights are: 9lb 2oz for Julian the Destroyer, and 7lb 1oz for Olivia the Flower. All systems are go, growth is on schedule. Next visit, in one month, will include some potentially gripe inducing vaccinations.

Todd came to check in on our new arrivals today, all the way from Berlin, Germany.
A good time was had by all, everybody ate, slept and were very well behaved!

We had a lovely visit this weekend with family friend Jill Turner and family Ted and Kristin Laws from Philadelphia. Everyone got a chance to meet and greet, and we were even able to sneak out for dinner together. Thanks Mom and Barbara for sitting (holding) the babies while we went out!

Turns out a family friend is a talented photographer, Jaime Chalem, otherwise known professionally as photosbynisso.com. He took each of these wonderful photos in our home, our little ones first professional shoot! So glamorous, right? Not much more to say, enjoy the photos, and feel free to visit Jaime's web site for additional examples of his work!

The sad truth is that with twins even the dog must be left in charge sometimes! Our sweet black pug Emma made short work of watching Julian sleep this morning while his mother did something else.... You cannot help but smile when you see these two human love nuggets roll around together and make funny faces!

Another first! We all left the house together for a stroll through the neighborhood this evening. Our Julian and Olivia are a little small for their non car seat stroller, but you gotta start somewhere, right? Today Julian also proclaimed himself to be "Master Julian, Ruler of the Universal Remote"

Well, with some trial and error we discovered Olivia will already sit in a small rocking chair! She seems to like it, and it gives us some much needed flexibility!

Fresh from an actual alligator sighting on Alligator Alley the St Pete clan arrived on our door. Wynelly, Dani, Tommy and Samantha, welcome! Julian and Olivia got to meet the rest of their relatives, and promptly ate and went to sleep, harrumph! They were still held, kissed and slobbered on anyways. More tomorrow?

Who was running the museum today while the whole office came to visit with us and share food and stories of missing each other? Hmmmm..... So happy to see everyone, everybody got their baby fix fixed, right?

We were given lots of clothes, and we are fighting weight gain already. Time to get some of the great outfits photographed before these clothes don't fit any more. You like?

Today was our first shot at bathing without assistance. Well, someone did watch us closely to make sure nobody slipped from our grasp. All in all, Olivia the poor guinea pig, came up smelling like roses. She seems to enjoy bath time, not so much for Master Julian.

Our dear friends Rick and Ronit Behar visited with us tonight, then we all went out for dinner. When our lovely baby nurse leaves us on Monday next week, we will be kissing nights like tonight a BIG GOODBYE! Angela's ankles have begun to resume their pre-pregnancy appearance, aren't they nice?

Evalyn arrived from Texas today to visit. Olivia had her first bath since her umbilical cord came off, and she was able to wear a onesie instead of just a shirt. Lots of excitement. Julain cannot stop eating, he is packing it in, he must have something planned! When we put him down for a nap he was able to get his hands free into a very funny pose. It seems to happen daily now.

Just when you thought the visiting was over, off we go to Grandma Linda's house! This was our first trip outside the house, except to see the doctor. Grandma had all the baby necessities, which we put to good use. An excellent festive outing, which also celebrated brother Howard's birthday!

The visits continued today, grandparents and aunts everywhere! We tried to get a decent twins photo, I am sure there will be many more opportunities. Olivia hopes her feet grow big and strong like her Grandfather Harvey, but boy do they look tiny today! Also our precious pug Lucy finally claimed her first child toy spoils. Go Lucy!

Well, Julian passed another milestone, goodbye umbilical cord stump! That means lots of things, a whole new series of wardrobe possibilities, and of course a BATH! The water temperature was just right, the lighting was perfect, but he still screamed like a banshee. He did enjoy being held in the water, stomach down.... It was all very tiring, and now he needs a nice clean dry nap. Olivia will have a first bath soon too...

More visitors today for our new additions. They did their best to entertain but quickly drifted off to sleep, again. Feeding twins is interesting business, when two little people want food now, something MUST be done! Wailing newborns in stereo, WHOA!
