Turns out, according to Jamaican soothsayers, that most babies have "gripes." You know, when they just sort of grunt, groan, and wail away. No particular cause, just a generic gripe. What do they really have to gripe about anyways? On to more interesting news, we visited the doctor for our 1 month check up yesterday and our new official weights are: 9lb 2oz for Julian the Destroyer, and 7lb 1oz for Olivia the Flower. All systems are go, growth is on schedule. Next visit, in one month, will include some potentially gripe inducing vaccinations.
Turns out a family friend is a talented photographer, Jaime Chalem, otherwise known professionally as photosbynisso.com. He took each of these wonderful photos in our home, our little ones first professional shoot! So glamorous, right? Not much more to say, enjoy the photos, and feel free to visit Jaime's web site for additional examples of his work!
The sad truth is that with twins even the dog must be left in charge sometimes! Our sweet black pug Emma made short work of watching Julian sleep this morning while his mother did something else.... You cannot help but smile when you see these two human love nuggets roll around together and make funny faces!
Fresh from an actual alligator sighting on Alligator Alley the St Pete clan arrived on our door. Wynelly, Dani, Tommy and Samantha, welcome! Julian and Olivia got to meet the rest of their relatives, and promptly ate and went to sleep, harrumph! They were still held, kissed and slobbered on anyways. More tomorrow?
Evalyn arrived from Texas today to visit. Olivia had her first bath since her umbilical cord came off, and she was able to wear a onesie instead of just a shirt. Lots of excitement. Julain cannot stop eating, he is packing it in, he must have something planned! When we put him down for a nap he was able to get his hands free into a very funny pose. It seems to happen daily now.
The visits continued today, grandparents and aunts everywhere! We tried to get a decent twins photo, I am sure there will be many more opportunities. Olivia hopes her feet grow big and strong like her Grandfather Harvey, but boy do they look tiny today! Also our precious pug Lucy finally claimed her first child toy spoils. Go Lucy!
Well, Julian passed another milestone, goodbye umbilical cord stump! That means lots of things, a whole new series of wardrobe possibilities, and of course a BATH! The water temperature was just right, the lighting was perfect, but he still screamed like a banshee. He did enjoy being held in the water, stomach down.... It was all very tiring, and now he needs a nice clean dry nap. Olivia will have a first bath soon too...
